“No, no, no, no,” Arie moaned as she shook her head in disbelief.  She fell to the ground again in agony.  Her head split open in pain.  “I don’t want it to be you,” she cried.  “I don’t want the voice to be you.”

“Calm yourself,” said the dragon.  “Your pain comes when you fight me.  Sit.  Breathe.”

Arie did what the dragon said.  She sat cross-legged and breathed, which was very difficult to do when so much terror is in your heart.  She closed her eyes and thought of happy thoughts, like playing in the barn and diving into the swimming hole.  She thought of her mother and father and Hannah.  Eventually her jagged breaths smoothed, and the tears in her eyes dried.  “Who are you?”

It’s been two years since the battle with King Aamon and the dragon in Kiku Canyon. Arie now lives in the castle with her family and King Gabe, her uncle. She also lives with debilitating headaches and a familiar voice that cries for her help. She calls on her friend turned sabatour, Luke, to help find relief and resolution from her pain and trauma.

Arie’s journey leads to what she fears the most, the great red dragon, the tormentor of her dreams. Even worse, the blood shed from the battle has bonded her with the great beast. She finds herself united with a powerful partner equally suspicious in her as they deal with a much larger issue: Aamon, seemingly back from the dead, has found his way back to the castle and has wormed his way into King Gabe’s inner circle. Can Arie and her friends find a way to thwart Aamon’s sinister plan and to save her family?
